2/3 cups shortening                                  

1-1/2 cups milk

1 cup sugar                                               

2 cups flour

2 eggs                                                       

2 teaspoons soda

1 teaspoon vanilla                                    

1/4 cup cocoa

1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix shortening, sugar and eggs.  Add rest of ingredients and beat until smooth.  Bake in greased 13x9x2 pan for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

FROSTING:

1/4 cup butter                                 

1 cup white sugar

1/4 cup milk                                   

1/2 cup small marshmallows

Boil until marshmallows melt. 

Take off heat, add 1/2 cup chocolate chips. 

Beat until chips are melted. 

Spread on cake.
